The 2019 Ford F150 is a member of the thirteenth generation of the Ford F-series trucks. The first generation was introduced in 1948. Those trucks were the first by Ford to be built on a truck chassis instead of a car chassis. At that time they were called Bonus-Built trucks. Over the years Ford has updated the appearance and the features while still maintaining the durability of the truck.

Power

The 2019 Ford F150 offers buyers six engine choices. There are three EcoBoost choices, a TI-VCT V6, a TI-VCT V8 and a PowerStroke Turbo Diesel. Any of the six engines are paired with a ten speed automatic transmission.

Capability

The F150 has the ability to tow up to 13,200 pounds which puts it at the top of its class. Being built from high strength aluminum makes the truck body lighter and gives it the ability to manage a higher payload making it the best in its class for payload. Ford provides features that make towing an easier prospect. Standard features include trailer sway control and a smart connector that gives an alert if the trailer is not connected properly or if there are issues with lighting. Available features include a Blind Spot Information System that warns you when a vehicle is either right beside the trailer or in the blind spot of the truck, a trailer brake control system that helps the trailer brakes work in harmony with the truck brakes, hitch assistance capabilities that give you a line of sight guide to help hitch the trailer to the truck and a backup assistance feature that makes backing a trailer as simple as turning a knob the direction you want the trailer to turn. LED lighting in the cargo box gives you the ability to continue working to load or unload the truck even after it is dark. Additional storage is available inside the cab of the truck for those everyday items you carry with you.

Technology

Technology has moved beyond a great audio system. Today, the F150 offers driver assistance features, Ford PassConnect, Ford + Alexa and Ford Sync 3 Applink that includes Waze navigation. With Ford PassConnect, your truck becomes a hotspot for up to 10 separate devices. Ford + Alexa allows you to use the Amazon Alexa technology you are familiar with having in your home to access navigation, traffic information, shopping and even compatible smart home devices. Driver assistance features include a 360 degree camera, adaptive cruise control, a blind spot information system, pre-collision assist and a lane-keeping system.
