With a high-strength, military-grade aluminum-alloy body, the 2019 Ford F150 has a light, but strong, foundation. The aluminum-alloy body gives the F150 more flexibility while still maintaining the durability consumers expect from a Ford pickup. Even with lighter than steel construction the F150 delivers in the areas of power, towing and payload.

2019 Ford F150  Power
A consideration when purchasing a pickup is whether the truck will have enough power to meet the needs of the driver. With six engines available for the F150, drivers can rest assured that there is an engine configuration that will rise to the challenges the truck meets. Whether the primary use is work or play, there is a combination that provides the performance needed to get the job done. Boasting 325 horsepower and 400 lb-ft of torque the 2.7 liter turbocharged EcoBoost engine features Ford’s port-fuel and direct-injection (PFDI) system with two injectors on each cylinder as well as a dual overhead cam system featuring variable intake/exhaust cam timing and twin intercooled turbochargers. The 3.5 liter EcoBoost provides 375 horsepower and 470 lb-ft of torque. The 3.5 liter features the PFDI system with one injector on the air intake and another inside the cylinder for each cylinder. The 24-valve, 3.5 liter twin-turbo HO (high output) EcoBoost engine with PFDI can be found under the hood of the F150 Raptor. The engine delivers the power of 450 horsepower and 510 lb-ft of torque. The 3.3 liter twin independent variable cam timing (Ti-VCT) engine generates 290 horsepower and 265 lb-ft of torque. The Ti-VCT system helps to optimize power by opening and closing the valves precisely. Providing 395 horsepower and 400 lb-ft of torque is the 5.0 liter Ti-VCT V8 engine. The 5.0 liter offers an available conversion package that allows the buyer to have the fuel system changed to a compressed natural gas or propane autogas system. For fans of a diesel engine there is an available 3.0 liter Power Stroke Turbo Diesel that boasts ratings of 250 horsepower at 3,250 rpm and 440 lb-ft of torque at 1,750 rps. The EcoBoost, V8 and diesel engines are paired with a 10-speed automatic transmission that features wide-span gear spacing along with three overdrive gears and drag-reduction action. Additionally, the 10-speed transmission allows drivers to choose between five modes to optimize performance based on the travel situation.

2019 Ford F150  Capability
When appropriately equipped, the gas powered F150 can tow up to 13,200 pounds. The diesel is rated to tow up to 11,400 pounds. Because the truck is lighter, consumers can expect an increased payload rating. With a suite of available driver assist features like Pro Trailer Backup Assist and Blind Spot Information System, Ford is committed to making towing a more hassle-free job.
